Carlos Museum for families
Programs for children and families at the Carlos Museum provide opportunities for children and teens to learn from artists of the ancient world in the galleries and from some of Atlanta’s best practicing artists in the studio. Check out our special family events, programs for teens, Artful Stories, and so many more inspiring, educational, and creative offerings here.
More on the partnership
TERRY KAY, a 2006 inductee into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame, has been a sports writer and film/theater reviewer (Atlanta Journal-Constitution), a public relations executive, and a corporate officer. He is the author of 17 published works (excerpted from author). His novels include Taking Lottie Home, The Runaway, Shadow Song, and the now-classic To Dance with the White Dog, twice nominated for the American Booksellers Book of the Year Award, and winner of the Southeastern Library Association Book of the Year Award. (excerpted from Simon and Shuster)
Also, please join us for September’s Book Club on Wednesday, September 14th at 1pm. Discussion will cover all of Terry Kay’s works. Take your pick of any/all of his titles at the Service Desk. (Please note: Terry Kay will not be attending this event)
If you (or the high school student in your family) haven’t ordered your summer required reading, time is running out. We have many LIT and AP required titles in both print and eBook format. Check our cart in the library. Some copies are not catalogued and do not appear in a PINES search. Remember, if you need to place a hold it takes time to arrive via courier and it may be on a waiting list, so don’t delay!
Be sure to check our eBooks using the icon over there on the right.
Yes, that link right there. Now wasn’t that easy?
We have an exciting special spur of the moment event to add to our SRP line-up! The Jefferson Community Theatre will be presenting a Cast and Costume Touch Tour. Join us for an up-close look at some crazy characters in fantastic, psychedelic costumes. Get a little taste of the upcoming production of Alice in Wonderland. Ask questions about the costumes, the play, the story, whatever you want to know. Fun for the whole family. This Touch Tour is a great experience for those with visual impairments as well as people who absorb information better through touch rather than audio or visual techniques.
